What it is
What is n8n?
n8n is a workflow automation tool you can run in the cloud or host yourself. It combines a visual editor with code when you need it, which makes it popular with technical teams.
- Self-hosted or n8n Cloud
- Visual editor with JavaScript when needed
- Hundreds of built-in nodes
- Fair-code licence
What it does
What n8n does with GraftPal
Keep data on your own servers
Self-host n8n and move GraftPal data between systems without a third-party cloud in the middle.
Custom logic
Use Code nodes to score, group or reshape GraftPal records before sending them on.
Sync to a database
Copy clients, jobs and invoices into Postgres or MySQL for your own reporting.
AI steps
Pass new leads to an AI node to draft a first reply for review.
How it works
How n8n works with GraftPal
An n8n workflow calls the GraftPal API on a schedule and passes each record to the nodes that follow.

How to connect
Connect n8n in 4 steps
API access is part of the Scale plan. On Scale you can create API keys and connect n8n; Starter and Growth workspaces can upgrade at any time.
- 1
Create a GraftPal API key
On the Scale plan, go to Settings → API keys in GraftPal and choose Create API key. Give it a name you will recognise, copy the key and keep it somewhere safe. Keys are read-only and belong to one workspace; you can delete one at any time to cut off access.
- 2
Add a Schedule Trigger
In n8n, create a workflow that starts with a Schedule Trigger node.
- 3
Add an HTTP Request node
Set the method to GET and the URL to the endpoint you need. Under Authentication choose Generic → Header Auth, and store your key as the Authorization header.
GET https://app.graftpal.com/api/v1/jobs?status=scheduled Authorization: Bearer YOUR_API_KEY - 4
Connect your nodes and activate
Split out the data array, add the nodes for your other systems, test the workflow and activate it.
API keys are read-only and belong to one workspace. You can see and delete them in Settings → API keys, and access stops the moment a key is deleted.
